No matter if you’re crying out for a fancy meal, want something a little more casual, or need a quick pit stop to fill up on a busy day out, Salida is packed with incredible places to eat. The only problem is choosing between them all.

Best Food in Salida

Moonlight Pizza And Brewpub

If you’re hankering for pizza then the Moonlight Pizza and Brewpub is somewhere you have to check out. But you’ll also find a hearty selection of hot sandwiches and snacks and a beautiful outdoor patio.

As well as being one of the best pizza spots in Salida, Moonlight is also a microbrewery and offers 16 of their very own beers on tap. These are rotated seasonally so there’s always something new to discover.

Plus, if you’re a regular visitor, it’s well worth joining the Moonlight Miles club to get rewards and discounts.

Boathouse

Situated right on the Arkansas River, the Boathouse is one of the most popular eateries in Salida. There’s an American menu as well as a delicious Baja Mexican menu that’s truly mouthwatering which includes tacos and burritos, among other things.

What really caught my eye about this place, however, was their commitment to sustainability. As much as 98% of their menu ingredients are responsibility sourced so this is the perfect pick if you’re keen to support businesses that look after the planet.

They offer catering for events if you’ve got a special occasion coming up and when the weather is good, you can’t beat dining outdoors and overlooking the river.

Amica’s Pizza, Microbrew & More

For anyone that’s keen to try locally produced beers then Amica’s is the place to be. They offer a range of craft beers made in their very own microbrewery so this is a wonderful choice for a hot day when you need that extra bit of refreshment.

On the menu you’ll find an array of tasty treats including pasta, wood fired pizza, sandwiches, salads, and much more. Plus, they offer a collection and delivery service if you’re in a hurry.

Between Thursday and Sunday, Amica’s offers a breakfast menu which is perfect if you’re looking to fuel up before a long day exploring everything Salida has to offer.

Mo Burrito

For affordable, high quality food to go, Mo Burrito is one of the best pit stops in Salida. While they don’t have a super extensive menu, the food on offer is certainly moreish.

As you’ll probably suspect from the name, the main focus here is the nimble burrito. But Mo Burrito has really spiced things up with the build your own menu which allows you to tailor your food to your liking and even add extras like nachos, rice, and a variety of delicious sauces.

I was also pretty impressed with the drinks selection and, if you visit between 3-5pm, it’s Happy Hour! Get 2 for 1 on draft beers and discounted cocktails.

The Fritz

This welcoming American gastropub is the perfect spot for casual dining and what I really love is the everchanging menu. No two visits will ever be the same.

The quality of the food here is second to none and you’ll always get a decent portion so you’ll never leave without being full. That said, they do offer a decent small plate menu for lunch times or when you’re not feeling overly hungry.

There’s an outdoor patio that has a beautiful rustic charm and is the perfect spot to unwind with some of the refreshing beers, hand-selected premium wines, and of course, delicious cocktails.

Current’s Restaurant

Specializing in steak and seafood, Current’s is a food lover’s paradise. Set in a friendly and warm building, you’ll always receive a wonderful welcome and I think Current’s is perfect for family get-togethers, relaxed dining, and cheery catch ups with friends over food.

They offer an excellent range of alcoholic drinks with some great wine pairings depending on your dish. The menu isn’t overly extensive but there’s still plenty to choose from and something for every taste.

Current’s offers catering for special events and even has an open mic night on a Wednesday for those who want a little entertainment over dinner.

50 Burger

Who doesn’t love a good burger? It’s a staple American dish and if you’re looking for the best burgers in Salida then I’d highly recommend 50 Burger.

Although 50 Burger only opened in 2016, it’s been a real hit but that doesn’t surprise me when you consider the massive selection of burgers to choose from as well as other tasty treats like loaded fries, grilled salmon, hot dogs and much more.

But if there’s something that really makes this restaurant stand out from the crowd, it’s the boozy shakes! If you fancy something a little different from your regular tipple then these are a must try. From the creamy Mudslide to the Chocolate Cherry Bourbon Float, there’s something for every sweet palette.

Little Red Hen Bakery

The final stop on our tour of Salida’s best places to eat brings us to the Little Red Hen Bakery. For tasty food on the go, especially at breakfast time, this hidden gem really hits the spot.

With freshly baked bread, delicious sandwiches, and sweet pastries, there’s something olde world about Little Red Hen. Plus, the menu consists of family recipes that have been passed down through generations so you know you’re getting food that’s been made with love.

Unlike a lot of bakeries, Little Red Hen also boasts a mimosa menu if you fancy an alcoholic drink with your lunch.
